How to use a mask?

- Jun 01, 2020-

Certain precautions should be taken when wearing surgical masks or breathing masks. The main measures are:

Take the mask out of the package and fasten it to your face with a strap.

To ensure correct wearing, the fixing bar should be above the nose. Generally, the information printed on the mask by the manufacturer should be exposed. If there is no specific instruction, the softest side should be close to the face.

Place the upper strap on the top of the head and the lower strap on the neck. The mask must be deployed correctly.

The mask should cover the nose, mouth and chin. In the case of breathing masks, you can close the surface of the filter valve by hand and slowly inhale to check whether it fits your face. If the mask squeezes the face properly, its position is correct, otherwise improper wearing will cause leakage.

Once the mask is in place, it should not be touched or repositioned (except for removal).

If the mask is disposable, once the mask is removed, it should be disposed of in an appropriate manner immediately.

The masks should be changed regularly: surgical masks should be replaced at least every 3 hours (if contaminated by splashes), and other masks should be replaced at least every 3 to 8 hours.

Wash your hands before and after every mask change.
